Bulandshahr-Khurja Development Authority Vice Chairman Dr Ankur Lathar said on Sunday that Khurja in Bulandshahr is called the ‘capital of ceramics’ and this park will showcase the beauty of ceramics.
” The world-class design, size, style utensils and products made here have made their mark in the country and abroad. In such a situation, as per the wishes of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a ceramic park named ‘Anokhi Duniya’ has been built to give a distinct identity to the traditional heritage of Khurja on the world stage. ” he said adding that this park not only displays the art and craftsmanship of Khurja, but will also play an important role in giving the city a new position in terms of tourism.
The VC said that the park, built on a PPP model, is spread over about 2 acres, and has the speciality that it is the world’s first ceramic waste park.
He said that after working hard for several months, a team of six artistes and 120 artisans have prepared about 100 small and big unique artworks in Anokhi Duniya Pars. Out of these, 28 big artworks are the main attraction.
“These artworks have been made from the pieces of broken pitchers, cups, kettles and other utensils. Here you will see large sized cups, kettles, pitchers and many other artistic samples, which have been decorated in a colourful and attractive way. This park is capable of attracting people of all age groups,” he said.
VC Dr Ankur Lathar said that the park has been prepared from 80 tonnes of ceramic waste, which is an excellent example of ‘waste-to-art’.
Anokhi Duniya Park has been built at a cost of Rs 5.86 crores and will be opened for tourists by the end of September.
The VC said special attention has been given to greenery in this park, which is based on horticulture. Many selfie points and a cafe have also been made for the children in the park.
There is something special for every age group in this park, which will attract them.
A fee will also be charged from the tourists for the beauty and maintenance of this park. This fee will be very minimal and the amount will be spent on the maintenance of the park.
The VC told that this park is not only a great example of reuse of waste but will also accelerate the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ of the double engine government in the state.
